New Cars Launching in September 2025
This month, we will see three new electric vehicles (EVs) and an all-new SUV from Maruti.
Last month, Renault launched two important cars for the Indian market, while premium brands like Volvo and Mercedes also launched new models. This month, we have a new set of exciting launches:
- Maruti Suzuki will unveil an all-new SUV. This will be their first new product since the Dzire was launched last November.
- Vinfast will finally announce the prices for its new cars, the VF6 and the VF7.
- Volvo will continue its streak of new launches with the EX30 electric SUV.
Let’s take a closer look at what we can expect from each of these cars.
1. All-New Maruti Suzuki Arena SUV
September 3
Maruti Suzuki will be launching a brand-new 5-seater SUV to compete with popular models like the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. It will be sold through the Arena dealerships, which means it will be priced more affordably than the Grand Vitara.
This new SUV, code-named the Y17, might be called the Victoris when it’s launched. Spy shots of the test car show that its design will be inspired by the e-Vitara, and it will have a brand-new interior.
The new SUV is expected to use the same engine options as the Grand Vitara:
- A 103hp, 1.5-litre mild-hybrid engine.
- A 116hp, strong-hybrid engine.
You can also expect a CNG option to be available.
2. Citroen Basalt X
September 5
The new top model of the Basalt will be called the X. You can already pre-book it by paying Rs 11,000. This new model is expected to get some fresh looks and more features.
Citroen’s teasers have shown a new design on the dashboard with new bronze-colored touches, which will also likely be on the AC vents. The inside of the car might also get new black and tan seats. It could also come with new features like a 360-degree camera. However, the engine and other mechanical parts will stay the same.
3. Vinfast VF 7
September 6
Vinfast VF7 Price to be Announced Soon
After months of waiting, Vinfast will finally announce the prices for its new electric SUV, the VF7, this month. This EV is 4.5 meters long and has a stylish, crossover-like design.
Bookings for the VF7 are already open.
Key Details
The India-spec VinFast VF7 will come with a 70.8kWh battery that supports both regular AC charging (7.2kW) and fast DC charging.
You can choose between two powerful options:
- A 204hp FWD (Front-Wheel Drive) model with a range of 450km (WLTP).
- A 350hp AWD (All-Wheel Drive) model with a range of 431km (WLTP).
The VF7 will have 19-inch alloy wheels and many features inside, including:
- A large 12.9-inch touchscreen
- Ventilated seats
- Reclining rear seats
- Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems)
- 7 airbags
The VF7 is expected to be priced at around Rs 30 lakh.
4. Vinfast VF6: A Smaller EV With a Big Range
September 6
The VF6, which is also launching this month, is a bit smaller than the VF7 at 4.4 meters. It looks like a smaller version of the VF7 and shares many features with it, including the touchscreen, glass roof, and safety systems (ADAS).
It has a smaller 59.6kWh battery that powers a single 204hp FWD (front-wheel drive) motor. The VF6 is said to have a range of 480km, which is very good.
The VF6 will be competing in the popular midsize EV segment against cars like the Tata Curvv EV and the Hyundai Creta Electric.
Pre-bookings for the VF6 have already started. The price is expected to be somewhere between Rs 20 lakh and Rs 25 lakh.
5. Volvo EX30
Mid-September
The Volvo EX30 will be the company’s first-ever electric car in India built completely as an EV from the start.
Expected Price and Competition
This new EV is expected to be priced at around Rs 50 lakh. This will place it directly against other luxury electric cars like the BMW iX1 and the BYD Sealion 7.
Performance and Range
The EX30 will have a 69kWh battery connected to an electric motor on the rear wheels. This setup produces 272hp and 343Nm of torque. Volvo claims a long range of 480km on a single charge, as tested on the global WLTP cycle.
Features and Design
Keeping sustainability in mind, the EX30 is made mostly with recycled materials instead of leather. The interior is very modern, centered around a large 12.3-inch touchscreen that controls almost all the car’s features, including the AC, headlights, and mirrors.
