Tata Motors is in overdrive, preparing for a major product offensive this festive season. While new and updated models like the Tata Punch, Punch EV, and the iconic Sierra EV are on the horizon, the popular Tata Nexon EV is set to receive a significant feature upgrade very soon.
A new media report confirms that the 2025 Tata Nexon EV will be equipped with a Level-2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) suite. This advanced safety technology will be a major highlight, though it will be exclusive to the top-end Empowered+ 45 variant. The special Dark Edition and Red Dark Edition models are also expected to get this upgrade.
Key ADAS Features
The new Level-2 ADAS suite will introduce a host of semi-autonomous driving features, including:
- Adaptive Cruise Control
- Traffic Sign Recognition
- Lane Keep Assist & Lane Departure Warning
- Forward Collision Warning
- Autonomous Emergency Braking
- High Beam Assist
Performance, Battery, and Charging
The 2025 Tata Nexon EV Empowered+ 45 will retain its robust 45kWh battery pack, which delivers a claimed ARAI range of 489km. Tata states this battery is 15% more energy-dense than the 40.5kWh pack, translating to a real-world range of approximately 350-370km.
Performance figures remain strong, with the electric motor producing a maximum of 145bhp and 215Nm of torque. It can accelerate from 0 to 100kmph in just 8.9 seconds.
When it comes to charging, the new model supports multiple options:
- 60kW DC Fast Charger: Charges from 10-80% in just 40 minutes.
- 7.2kW AC Fast Charger: Charges from 10-100% in about 6.5 hours.
- 3.3kW AC Plug: A full charge from 10-100% takes around 17.5 hours.
Expected Price Increase
With the addition of the Level-2 ADAS suite, the 2025 Tata Nexon EV Empowered+ 45 is likely to see a minor price hike. Currently, this variant is priced at Rs 16.99 lakh (ex-showroom), while the Red Dark Edition costs Rs 17.19 lakh (ex-showroom). The inclusion of these advanced features is expected to further solidify the Nexon EV’s position as a leader in the subcompact electric SUV segment.
