Important: Suzuki Gixxer 250 Models Recalled
Suzuki has issued a recall for over 5,000 of its Gixxer 250 and Gixxer SF 250 bikes. A recall is when a company asks owners to bring their vehicles in to fix a manufacturing issue at no cost.
What is the problem? It was found that some of these bikes were mistakenly fitted with a rear brake part meant for the Suzuki V-Strom SX. Because of this incorrect part, the brake pads can press on the brake disc unevenly. Over time, this could cause the pads to wear out faster and could reduce the bike’s braking power.
Who is affected? A total of 5,145 bikes are affected by this issue. This includes all Gixxer 250 and Gixxer SF 250 models that were made between February 2022 and June 2025.
What should you do? Suzuki has acknowledged the issue and will fix it for free. If your bike was manufactured during this time, you should take it to your nearest authorized Suzuki service center as soon as possible. Getting the correct part installed will ensure your bike’s braking performance is not compromised.
