Toyota Reports Strong Sales in August 2025
Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) had a successful month in August 2025, continuing its growth in the Indian market.
The company sold 29,302 units in India, which is a small but steady increase of 2.49% compared to the same month last year. Compared to the previous month (July 2025), sales also saw a slight rise of 0.49%. Additionally, Toyota exported 4,934 units during the month.
Overall, from January to August 2025, Toyota has sold 2,41,696 units, showing an impressive 13.59% growth over the same period last year.

Varinder Wadhwa, Vice President of Sales at TKM, said that the company is encouraged by the continued trust from its customers. He noted that September will be an important month for the auto industry as a whole, and Toyota plans to focus on offering new, value-added services to make car buying a more joyful experience for customers during the festive season.
Toyota’s Future Plans:
Toyota is getting ready to launch several new models in the coming years:
- Urban Cruiser EV: Expected to launch in 2026, this will be Toyota’s first electric SUV in India. It will be a version of the upcoming Maruti e Vitara. The top model is expected to offer a driving range of over 500km on a single charge.
- New Midsize SUV: There are rumors that Toyota will also introduce its own version of a new Maruti midsize SUV, which will compete with cars like the Hyundai Creta.
- Next-Gen Fortuner: The new-generation Toyota Fortuner is also expected to debut in 2026. It will come with a fresh new look and many improved features. While the styling will change a lot, its reliable engine setup is likely to remain the same.
