All-New 2025 Mahindra Thar Arrives Soon With Big Feature Enhancements

2025 Mahindra Thar Facelift Launching Soon With Major Upgrades

The popular Mahindra Thar (3-door) off-road SUV is gearing up for a big update in the coming weeks. While Mahindra has not confirmed an exact launch date, the facelifted Thar is scheduled to arrive in the latter half of September 2025. Test mules have already been spotted multiple times, giving away key design and feature upgrades.

Bigger Screen, ADAS & More Features

Inside, the 2025 Thar will receive a more feature-rich cabin compared to the current model. Expect a larger touchscreen infotainment system with the latest user interface, a refreshed driver’s display, and a new electric steering wheel.

The SUV is also set to borrow premium features from the Thar Roxx, including a 360-degree camera, ventilated front seats, ambient lighting, wireless phone charger, rear disc brakes, and Level-2 ADAS (advanced driver assistance system).

Styling Updates Inspired by Thar Roxx

On the outside, the facelifted Thar will draw inspiration from the Thar Roxx. Key changes include a redesigned grille with double-stacked slats, a revised bumper, and new headlamps. At the rear, expect redesigned taillamps and a tweaked bumper, along with new alloy wheel designs.

Mahindra may also add new exterior colour options to the lineup. Currently, the Thar is offered in five shades – Deep Grey, Red Rage, Everest White, Desert Fury, Deep Forest, and Stealth Black.

Petrol & Diesel Powertrains Continue

Under the hood, the 2025 Thar is expected to retain its existing engine options:

  • 2.0L turbo-petrol (152bhp)

  • 1.5L turbo-diesel (119bhp)

  • 2.2L turbo-diesel (130bhp)

Transmission choices will also carry over, and the SUV will continue to be offered with both RWD (rear-wheel drive) and 4WD (four-wheel drive) variants.
