2025 Ather Rizta Z receives an update, adding a new touchscreen interface and an Eco mode
Ather Energy has introduced the 2025 Ather Rizta Z with a brand-new, touch-enabled instrument cluster and a striking dual-tone Terracotta Rec color. Existing Rizta owners will also get these upgrades soon via an over-the-air (OTA) software update, which will also activate a new Eco Mode. This update is possible because the scooter was built with advanced hardware from the start.
Performance and Key Features
The 2025 Ather Rizta Z’s mechanical components remain the same. It is offered with 2.7kWh, 2.9kWh, and 3.7kWh battery packs, providing a claimed IDC range of 123km to 159km. Powered by a 4.3kW electric motor with 22Nm of torque, the scooter can go from 0 to 40kmph in 4.7 seconds and reach a top speed of 80kmph. Riders can choose between two modes: Zip and SmartEco.
The Rizta also stands out with a traction control system—a first for an electric scooter in India. Other features include a ‘DeepView’ LCD display, Google Maps navigation, Magic Twist, and hill-hold assist. With a massive 56 liters of total storage capacity (34 liters under the seat and a 22-liter frunk), the Rizta offers class-leading practicality.
New Platform and Concepts Unveiled
In addition to the Rizta updates, Ather also revealed its new EL platform and two new scooter concepts: the EL01 and Redux. The company announced that the first scooter built on the EL platform is scheduled to launch during the festive season of 2026. While the EL01 concept is a preview of a straightforward urban scooter, the Redux concept gives a glimpse into the brand’s future maxi-scooter.
Ather also launched the 2025 Ather 450 Apex, which now comes with a new “Infinity Cruise” feature to enhance the riding experience with three distinct cruise modes: City Cruise, Hill Cruise, and Crawl Control.
