August 2025 Sales Performance
Mahindra & Mahindra reported total sales of 75,901 units in August 2025, a negligible increase from the 75,883 units sold during the same period last year.
- Domestic SUV sales experienced a 9% year-on-year (YoY) decline, with 39,399 units sold.
- In contrast, the commercial vehicle segment saw a 12% YoY growth, with 32,954 units sold.
- The company’s exports also performed well, increasing by 16% to 3,548 units.
According to Nalinikanth Gollagunta, CEO of Mahindra’s Automotive Division, the decline in SUV sales is a direct result of customers waiting for the upcoming GST reforms. The company intentionally reduced wholesale billing to minimize the stock held by dealers and anticipates that the final GST announcement will boost demand during the festive season.
Upcoming SUV Lineup
Looking ahead, Mahindra has a robust plan to introduce several new SUVs in India by the end of 2026. This includes three facelifts for popular models (Thar 3-door, XUV700, and Scorpio N), a new born-electric SUV, a next-generation Bolero and Bolero EV, and hybrid/EV versions of the XUV 3XO.
The updated Mahindra Thar is expected to be launched in the next few months, while the XUV700 and Scorpio N facelifts are planned for early 2026. The Mahindra XEV 7e, a three-row electric SUV, is also set to hit showrooms by the end of this year. Additionally, Mahindra may introduce a new strong hybrid powertrain with the XUV 3XO.
