Ather’s New EL Platform: What You Need to Know
Ather Energy has revealed its all-new EL platform along with the Ather EL01 concept scooter. The first scooter made on this flexible new platform will be the production version of the EL01, which is expected to launch around the festive season in 2026.
Ather EL Platform – Made for the Future
Ather claims its new EL platform will make things much better for riders.
- Less Servicing: You’ll only need to service your scooter every 10,000 km, which is double the standard distance of 5,000 km.
- Easier Charging: The new platform comes with a special ACDC charging system and an onboard charger. This means you can charge the scooter directly using a standard three-pin home socket, so you don’t need to carry a heavy portable charger. It also supports fast charging.
- Flexible Design: This platform is very flexible and can be used to make many different kinds of scooters, from large maxi-scooters to everyday family scooters.
- Different Battery Sizes: The platform can fit various battery packs, from a small 2kWh to a large 5kWh.
- Better Brakes: It has an advanced electronic braking system, which is a smarter version of the normal combined braking system (CBS), making the ride safer.
Ather’s upcoming scooters will be built on this new platform, but the current scooters will continue to use their existing chassis.
Ather EL01 Electric Scooter Concept
The showcased Ather EL01 concept has a dual-tone Neon and White colour scheme. It features a modern rectangular LED headlight, wide handlebars, a single seat, and a sleek LED taillamp. The final production version will be made at Ather’s new factory in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, Maharashtra.
